GIRLBOMB TURNS 20

In 1986, I lived in a group home for unhoused teenaged girls.

Twenty years later, in 2006, I saw the publication of my first book, GIRLBOMB: A Halfway Homeless Memoir.

Now, twenty years after that, in 2026, I’m celebrating GIRLBOMB’s 20th anniversary with new behind-the-book content, book giveaways, chances to win a free writing consultation with me, and live events in New York.

I’m proud that GIRLBOMB continues to find new readers two decades after publication, and I look forward to introducing her to a wider audience this year.

“A wry, mesmerizing portrait of being underprivileged, underage, and underdressed in 1980s New York City, GIRLBOMB provides an unflinching look at street life, survival sex, female friendships, and first loves.”
